A tourist visa can only be granted to a foreigner who does not have a residence or occupation in India and whose sole objective of visiting India is recreation, sightseeing, casual visit to meet friends and relatives. The government of India in its latest guidelines has decided to lift restriction of two-month gap on re-entry of foreign nationals coming to India on Tourist visa except in case of nationals of Afghanistan, China, Iraq, Sudan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, foreigners of Pakistan (Pak origin).

Tourist Visa Duration is Maximum for 12 months.
For Minors (below 18 years) a NOC (No Objection Certificate) is required with proper content and it has to be signed by both parents. Parent's signature should be the same as is in their respective passports. Minor birth certificate in English is required.
If holding Indian nationality previously, then Indian nationality Surrender certificate and cancelled Indian passport copy is required.
Cabin crews/Pilots - ID card copy.
Housemaids/Servants - NOC from Sponsor and Sponsor's passport copy.
Journalist – Copy of ID card/ Press Accreditation card and letter from UAE Company stating that they will be going for Tourism purpose only.
For Switzerland Nationals copy of ticket booking is mandatory.
